Thodem Ganga @ Gangavva @ Sony, SCM underground for 21 years. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Details of the Maoist members joining the mainstream of public life: <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>1) Kunkati Venkataiah @ Ramesh @ Raghu @ Vikas, age: 52 yrs, native <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>of Kutigal village, Maddur mandal, Siddipet district, State Committee <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Member and Secretary\/In-Charge of South Bastar DVC under <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC). <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Early Life and Family Back ground <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 Kunkati Venkataiah @ Ramesh @ Raghu @ Vikas, 52 yrs, is a native of <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Kutigal village in Maddur mandal, Siddipet district. His father, Vojayya, belonged to <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>a farming family, and his mother, Lachchamma, was also a farmer. He had one <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>brother and two sisters. His parents and brother have passed awayMarriage and Immediate Family <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Vikas is married to Kodi Manjula @ Nirmala, a State Committee Member (DKSZCM) of <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>the CPI (Maoist). In November 2024, Nirmala surrendered and joined the mainstream <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>in the presence of the Warangal Commissioner of Police. She is currently residing in <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Warangal district. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Entry into the Movement (CPI (ML) PWG) <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 Vikas studied at the Dhulmetta Government Hostel in Cherial mandal of Siddipet <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>district. He completed his tenth-grade examinations during the 1988\u20131989 <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>academic year. During his stay at the hostel, members of the CPI (ML) People\u2019s <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>War Group frequently visited the premises to deliver lectures and sing <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>revolutionary songs, leading to his association with the organization. While still a <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>student, he began distributing pamphlets and writing CPI (ML) People\u2019s War Group <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>slogans and graffiti on walls in nearby villages, in accordance with the party\u2019s <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>directives. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 1990, Vikas attended a large public meeting of CPI(ML) PW Group known as <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Rythu Coolie Sabhalu held in Warangal and subsequently returned to his native <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>village. On or around May 20, he received a communication from Gundeboina <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Anjaiah @ Balanna, the then commander of the Cherial Dalam, regarding his <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>recruitment into the organization. In response, Vikas joined the Cherial Dalam on <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>May 22, 1990. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Early Assignments in Party Life <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 After his induction into the Cherial Dalam, initially he served as an active member <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>for approximately one year. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 1991, he was reassigned to the Mahadevpur Dalam, where he worked under <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>the command of Venkanna, the then commander of the Mahadevpur Dalam and <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>worked in the capacity of Deputy Commander. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Rise in the Party Life <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 1995, Vikas assumed charge as the Commander of the Mahadevpur Area <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Committee (AC). <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 1998, he was promoted to the position of District Committee Member and <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>assigned to Karimnagar district. He simultaneously oversaw the activities of the <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Mahadevpur and Manthani Area Committees until 2002. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 2003, he was elevated to the post of District Committee Secretary and took <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>charge as the District Committee Secretary of Karimnagar East Division. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 2005, the three districts \u2014 Khammam, Karimnagar, and Warangal were <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>merged to form the KKW Divisional Committee, and a secretariat wasconstituted. Vikas worked as a Secretariat Member, along with two other <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>members. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In late 2006, the North Telangana Special Zonal Committee (NTSZC) was <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>relocated from Telangana to Chhattisgarh. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 2007, during the CPI (Maoist) plenum, Vikas was transferred to the Darbha <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Divisional Committee of the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC). <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>There, he worked as Secretary for the Kattekalyan and Malingar Area Committees. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 2015, he was promoted to the rank of DKSZCM\/SCM and was appointed as <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Secretary of the South Bastar Divisional Committee of DKSZC. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 He continued to serve as Secretary of the South Bastar Divisional Committee until <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>2021, after which he handed over the responsibilities of Secretary to Muchaki Erral. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 Since 2021, Vikas has been working as the In-Charge of the South Bastar <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Divisional Committee of DKSZC. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Reasons for coming out of CPI (Maoist) <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In May 2025, due to deteriorating health, Vikas decided to dissociate from the CPI <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>(Maoist) organization on health grounds and rejoin the mainstream with <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>government assistance. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 His decision reflects a personal need to prioritize his health and well-being after <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>spending several decades in the underground movement. He conveyed his <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>intention to lead a normal life, focus on his recovery, and live peacefully with his <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>family by availing himself of the rehabilitation measures extended by Telangana <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>government. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>2) Mogilicherla Venkatraju @ Raju @ Erra Raju @ Chandu @ Chander <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>@ Punnam Chander @ Satla Balaraju s\/o Komuraiah, age: 45 years, <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>cate: Rajaka (BC), native of Thatikayala village, Dharmasagar <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>mandal, Hanumakonda district, Telangana, State. State Committee <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Member (SCM) and in-charge of CNM in DKSZC of CPI (Maoist). <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Early Life and Family Back ground <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 Mogilicherla Venkatraju @ Chandu is a native of Thatikalaya village, Dharmasagar <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>mandal, Hanumakonda district. His father Komuraiah worked as a water supplier in <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>the village and his mother Uppalamma was a homemaker. He had three brothers <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>and one sister. Both his parents and his younger brother, Mahender have passed <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>away. Marriage life <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 Chandu married Jury, a native of the Maad area, in 2003. However, the couple <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>separated in 2011 following her decision to leave the CPI (Maoist). In 2019, <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Chandu married Thodem Ganga @ Sony, who is currently working as a State <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Committee Member (DKSZCM) of the CPI (Maoist) and is joining the mainstream <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>along with him. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Entry into the Movement (CPI (ML) PWG) <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 Chandu studied up to 2nd standard at the Government School in Thatikalaya <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>village. From 3rd to 5th standard, he studied at the Government High School at <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Kolanupaka, Alair mandal, Bhongir district while residing at his maternal uncles\u2019 <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>house. During his early years, Chandu developed an interest in folk music and was <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>known for singing folk songs. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 1990, Chandu came into contact with the village campaign batches of the CPI <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>(ML) People\u2019s War Group (PWG) during the summer and through them, met <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Kranthi Ranadev, a city organizer. Subsequently, he also met late Gaddar in <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Hyderabad and underwent Jana Natya Mandali (JNM) training at Chabala village in <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Ananthapur district, where Mala Sanjeev @ Lengu (recently surrendered) was his <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>instructor. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 Inspired by late Gaddar\u2019s revolutionary songs, he left his studies and began <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>working with the Jana Natya Mandali under Gundeboina Anjaiah @ Balanna in <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Shamirpet area of Jangaon district. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 1993, Chandu was recruited into the Narsampet Dalam under the leadership of <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>late Somanna. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Rise in the Party Life <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 From 1993 to 1999, Chandu worked in the Narsampet Dalam, during which he <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>was promoted to the rank of Area Committee Member (ACM) in 1995. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 1999, he was elevated to the position of Area Committee Secretary (ACS) and <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>appointed as Secretary of the Palakurthy Dalam. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In January 2001, Chandu was transferred to the Dandakaranya (DK) region and <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>was assigned the responsibility of expanding the activities of the Chetna Natya <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Manch (CNM). <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 2002, he attended the All-India Cultural Workshop of CPI (ML) PWG conducted <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>in the Andhra\u2013Orissa Border (AOB) area, where he was directed to promote the <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>CNM across all village-level units. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 2003, Chandu became a member of the Dandakaranya Cultural SubCommittee (DCSC), with Markam Gopanna working as its Secretary. In the same <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>year, he was promoted to the rank of Divisional Committee Member (DVCM). <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 2007, Chandu was appointed as Secretary of the newly formed Korar Area <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Committee in North Bastar. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 2008, he additionally worked as an organiser for the Jagdalpur Sub-Urban Area <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>and operated in the Lohandiguda region of Bastar district. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 2009, he was assigned additional responsibilities as Secretary of the newly <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>formed Barsur Area Committee. During this period, he <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>operated in the Rajnandgaon plains to strengthen the organisation\u2019s base until <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>2015. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 2015, he was promoted to the position of State Committee Member (SCM) <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>and appointed as Secretary of the Dandakaranya Cultural Sub-Committee (DCSC). <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 From 2017 to 2019, Chandu worked as In-Charge of the East Bastar Division. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 Since 2019, he has been functioning as CNM In-Charge under the Dandakaranya <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC), primarily operating in the South Bastar region. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In 2022, he was inducted as a member of the South Sub-Zonal Bureau and <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>subsequently appointed as a member of the Dandakaranya Secretariat in <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>2024. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>He has been serving as the In-Charge of CNM in DKSZC and DK Secretariat <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>member. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Reasons for coming out of CPI (Maoist) <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 Due to deteriorating eyesight, ideological differences and divisions within the <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>leadership and various formations of the CPI (Maoist) in recent times, Chandu <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>decided to dissociate from the organization and left CPI (Maoist) organization <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>along with his wife Thodem Ganga @ Sony, State Committee Member (SCM) to <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>rejoin the mainstream with government assistance. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 His decision reflects a conscious intent to step away from the organisation due to <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>health concerns and growing ideological differences. After spending several <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>decades in the underground movement, he now wishes to prioritize his well-being, <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>lead a normal life and live peacefully with his family by availing himself of the <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>rehabilitation measures extended by Telangana government. ) Thodam Ganga @ Gangavva @ Sony, age: 42 yrs, native of <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Dharampeta village, Kistaram PS limits, Sukuma district, <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Chhattisgarh, State Committee Member, Member in Janathana <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Sarkar of Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) and InCharge Janathana Sarkar, South Bastar DVC. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Early Life and Family Back ground <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 Thodam Ganga @ Gangavva @ Sony is a native of Dharampeta village, <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Kistaram PS limits, Sukuma district, Chhattisgarh state. She hails from Dorla Koya <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>(ST) Community. Her father Laxmaiah belonged to a farmer&#8217;s family and her <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>mother Chilaka died in her childhood. She had one brother and three sisters. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Marriage and Immediate Family <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 Ganga married Mogilicherla Raju @ Erra Raju @ Chandu, a State Committee <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Member (DKSZCM) of the CPI (Maoist), in May 2019. The marriage took place in <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>the Palagudem forest area of Pamed Police Station under the leadership of the late <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Katakam Sudershan @ Anand, CCM. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Entry into the Movement <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 Ganga is illiterate, as her native village, Dharampeta is a remote area that did not <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>have access to schooling during her childhood. Under the influence of Rajesh (now <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>arrested), the then Commander of the Gollapally Local Organising Squad (LOS), <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>she joined the Dandakaranya Adivasi Mahila Sangam (DKAMS), a front <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>organisation of the CPI (Maoist) in 2002. After six months of active participation, <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>she was elected as the President of the Dandakaranya Adivasi Mahila Sangam. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In October 2004, when her parents and relatives attempted to compel her into <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>marriage, she decided to join the CPI (Maoist) as an underground (UG) cadre. She <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>was initially assigned to the Gollapally LOS under the Kistaram Area Committee <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>(AC) as a Party Member. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Rise in the Party Life <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In December 2004, the CPI (Maoist) floated the Janathana Sarkar Committee in <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>the Kistaram Area Committee (AC) and appointed Ganga as its vice President. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In January 2006, she was promoted to the rank of Area Committee Member <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>(ACM) within the Kistaram AC. <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>\u27a2 In June 2007, she was appointed as President of the Janathana Sarkar <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Committee of Kistaram AC.
